Crisp Regional Health System is Hiring a Hospitalist Nurse Practitioner Near Cordele, GA

Position Summary:
Under the leadership of the Director, Physician Services, the Nurse Practitioner (NP) is an active member of the Physician Services team that delivers medical care consistent with the strategic vision, goals, philosophy and direction of Physician Services and CRHS. The Nurse Practitioner (PA) is responsible for providing care to patients throughout their life cycles (prenatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric) while emphasizing wellness promotion, illness prevention, care of acute minor illnesses and stable chronic illnesses for all life cycles.
 
Basic Qualifications:
· Education:
Requires a Master’s degree in Physician Assistant Studies (MPAS), Health Science (MHS), or Medical Science (MMSc).
· Experience:
Requires two to four years of work-related experience or any equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
· Licensure, Registrations & Certifications:
Requires and maintains current state license as a Registered Nurse.
Requires and maintains current state certification as a Physician Assistant –Certified (PA-C).
Maintains a current certification in Basic Life Support (If BLS verification is not current upon hire, it must be obtained within three (3) months of hire.)
Requires and maintains a current valid driver’s license and proof of minimum automobile insurance.
 
Essential Job Responsibilities:
  • Provides direct patient clinical care in a hospitalist setting.
  • Examines patients with specific acute complaints or stable chronic illnesses, initiates treatment for identified conditions according to written protocol, and works closely with Hospitalist physicians.
  • Provides appropriate level of clinical and educational services as needed that is age and condition appropriate.
  • Participates in performance improvement (PI) projects.
  • Provides assistance to the physicians on issues pertinent to the Hospitalist program
  • Responsible for admitting and discharging patients.
  • Maintains chart documentation, tracking and reporting systems as indicated for continuity of care.
  • Follows all Physician Services and CRHS policies and procedures and ensures compliance with all federal and state laws, regulations and JCAHO requirements.
  • Mentors new employees as requested.
  • Completes all required professional education including continuing nursing education hours and mandatory in-services to maintain professional licensure.
  • Performs other related job duties as assigned.

    Standards of Performance:

  • Provides appropriate level of clinical and educational services as needed and that is age and condition appropriate.
  • Provides assistance to the physicians on issues pertinent to the Hospitalist program
  • Responsible for admitting and discharging patients.
  • Participates in performance improvement (PI) projects.
  • Demonstrates positive interpersonal skills when communicating with patients, families, coworkers and physicians, as measured by observation and through patient and family satisfaction survey results.
  • Participates in education as required through mandatory in-services and acquisition of continuing nursing education, as measured by education and attendance records, and maintenance of professional licensure.
  • Demonstrates adherence to CRHS Standards of Behavior as measured by peer, supervisor and patient observations.
  • Demonstrates reliability as measured by compliance with CRHS Time and Attendance policies.
Demonstrates professional conduct by maintaining strict confidentiality, as measured by valid complaints given to the supervisor or director.
